I don't think I can put into words how much I love this book. It's not often that a book keeps me awake with tears streaming down my face and laughing at the same time. There were so many similarities between my life and Cath's life. I remember saying some of the exact things she said in this book. I still feel the way she felt about new situations. I remember SOBBING when the last Harry Potter book came out and feeling a sense of abandonment--the same feeling that I feel now. I read this on my kindle but immediately ordered a hardback so I can have this on my shelf. This is definitely going to be one I want to reread again and again.

January OwlCrate Unboxing

So I actually totally missed sharing my book haul on this blog and I'm so sorry! I will get it up this week, promise! I really wanted to share my Owlcrate Unboxing first, because I am SO EXCITED about the book in it!

This one is actually in video form, so I decided to share that but next time, I will totally remember to take more pictures for the blog!

If you want to see a bigger screen, just head over to the video right here to see it because apparently, I can't make it bigger on the blog. Eek!

Do you get Owlcrate? What did you think of this month's box? If you don't get Owlcrate, but you'd like to, check it out here!

New Year's Resolutions

So as a general rule, I kind of hate new year's resolutions. I feel like it's such a long term thing to say "I'm going to do xyz over the course of a full year." Priorities change, circumstances change, and then you're left staring at this goal you made in January like "uh why the hell did I say I'd do that?"

And I hate setting goals that are ambiguous. It's probably one of the only things that stuck with me after writing all those care plans in nursing school. I feel like goals have to be SMART--specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-limited.

So basically, I can't say "I want to run more in 2017." because as of right now, I've been running maybe 2-3 times a month. So, as soon as I run 4 times a month or 37 times, boom done. Resolution accomplished.

I am awesome.

So then I say "I will run three times a week." Then we have this week, where I have zombie death flu and have barely left the couch. so that doesn't work either.

But saying all that, here's what's important to me to focus on for 2017. Right now. In January. Ask me in March and my views might be different.

1. My goodreads challenge goal is to read 52 books this year. Right now, I'm knocking that out of the park, but I know later this year, I'll probably hit a reading slump. So 52. Let's do it. I have 11 million books on my TBR list, so this shouldn't be hard.

2. Post on this blog and on my new book youtube channel. I don't have a number of times or anything, but I really want to dig into this new hobby. It's made my love of reading from my childhood come back with a fierceness and I'm obsessed with that.

3. Read some of those books. You know those books. The "You MUST Read these before you die!!" type of books. Right now, I really want to dig into Farenheit 451, The Bell Jar, and Anne Frank, but I may pick different ones.

So those are my "bookish resolutions." Let's see what else I'd like to accomplish this year.

4. Only design stickers I love (I run a planner sticker shop, if you didn't know). This seems simple but when it's 1am and you have zero inspiration for a holiday coming up that people want kits for, it's anything but simple. I want to only put out products I truly truly love.

5. Train and run for a half marathon. Guess I need to dig out those running shoes.

So there's that. It's written down. er...sorta. Let's see how it turns out at the end of the year.

New Year, New Blog

or whatever.

Yes, I totally picked the insanely stereotypical time of the year to start this new blog. BUT it's been on my radar for awhile.

Woah, let me back up. Hi! I'm Paige and I'm from the blog/youtube channel/etsy shop Creating&Co. As you can see, I'm pretty dang obsessed with planners.

But I have other interests, dang it! And that's where Books & Blabber comes in. Obviously, this blog is going to contain a lot of stuff about books, but some lifestyle stuff may creep its way in here. As you can see by my creating&co channel, I'm pretty obsessed with videos, so I totally plan on posting some book videos over on the new Books & Blabber youtube channel too.

So any way, more about me in case you don't know me already. First off, welcome to this blog! I'm SO EXCITED for this new project and I hope you are too!

I'm Paige and that beautiful little puppy is Exo. He's a chiweenie. I'm a nurse as well and I named him because when he was a baby, he had exophthalmos, which is when your eyes bulge out.

Yep, that happened.

I'm in my twenties and live in Memphis, TN with Exo and my husband, Cody.

I'm into books (obvs), planners (even more obvs), but also DIY and running. Remember those other lifestyle type things I talked about? They'll probably center around those concepts.

I typically read a lot of YA fantasy books, but I plan on branching out this year and I want to hit some of the classics that I didn't already read in high school this year.

I'm a member of the Hogwarts Running Club and a proud Slytherin because we won the House Cup in 2016!! Our house worked SO HARD and totally killed it so we're insanely excited. In 2016, I also ran my very first live 10k for St. Jude at the end of December. BUT my time was kind of meh because I stopped running regularly in August, so I want to get back into it in 2017 and hopefully do my first half!

And I think that's all I've got for ya'll right now, so I'll see you soon!
